InvisibleHand Will Expose up to $20 Million in Savings for Online Shoppers This Holiday Season

Firefox Plug-In Provider Offers Tips to Help Consumers Make Better Decisions When Shopping Online

LONDON and BOSTON, MA--(Marketwire - November 23, 2009) - With US shoppers looking to stretch their budgets a little further this season, InvisibleHand announced today that its add-on for the Mozilla Firefox Web browser will identify millions of dollars in savings for online holiday gift-givers. InvisibleHand has revealed over $18 million in savings since its launch in August and believes that number will double by the end of the 2009 holiday season.

The add-on, which is easily downloadable at the InvisibleHand site, discreetly and automatically alerts users with real-time pricing for popular products at competing Web sites. For example, a shopper browsing a new HD TV on would see a subtle bar near the top of the page that would alert them to better offers on that specific item at alternative retailers online. The add-on takes the work out of hunting for the best deal because it's automatic.

"Online shoppers face a daunting number of choices and unclear information about what the best prices are, and where to get them," says InvisibleHand Founder Robin Landy. "Our mission is to provide consumers with more perfect information so they can make smarter decisions about what they are buying, both for the holidays and for every day."

Specifically, Landy offers shoppers three tips for getting the best deals online this season:

-- Don't rely on the old-fashioned price comparison sites. Prices change
more often than you think and more frequently than the price comparison
sites can track. Be prepared to wait -- or to jump on a great deal as soon
    as you see it
-- Think outside the bookmarks - niche retailers of electronics and other
equipment often offer better deals than the big-box stores, so consider
    looking for those less-well-known sites
-- Look for deals on older or discontinued electronic items. For example,
there are plenty of previous generation iPods around which the retailers
can't wait to offload. If you don't mind forgoing the very latest features,
you can get some great deals

The fact that InvisibleHand offers real-time pricing is critical: research has shown that traditional price-comparison websites offer prices that are outdated, which can cost consumers at the checkout. InvisibleHand also uncovers "hidden" prices that are not shown by some sites for certain items until consumers put the item in their shopping cart.
