Invitation/Hunger Count 2009: Moisson Montreal Paints a Grim Portrait and Presents Its Strategy and Recommendations for 2010

MONTREAL, QUEBEC--(Marketwire - Nov. 9, 2009) - Johanne Theroux, Executive director of Moisson Montreal, Canada's largest food bank, invites representatives of the media to the unveiling of Hunger Count 2009, an annual report on poverty and the use of food bank counters in Montreal. Hunger Count 2009 is the result of an important survey conducted in collaboration with community organisations of the Island of Montreal for whom Moisson Montreal remains the principal supplier. Representatives of Moisson Montreal will speak to the important impact of the economic crisis on society and the sharply increasing number of individuals and families turning to food programs on a permanent basis in 2009. This press conference will be held in the presence of representatives from Comite social Centre-Sud, an association served by Moisson Montreal, at its downtown Montreal venue, at 1710 Beaudry Street, on Thursday November 12th at 10 a.m.

While this press conference will be held in French, an English speaking spokesperson is available to media.
