J.B. Hunt Selects IBM Software to Streamline and Automate Business Processes

LAS VEGAS, NV--(Marketwire - October 17, 2007) - IBM Information on Demand Conference -- J.B. Hunt Transport Services, Inc. (NASDAQ: JBHT), one of the largest transportation logistics companies in North America, has selected IBM (NYSE: IBM) software for an innovative way to help streamline its business processes for improved customer service and cost savings.

In an effort to increase operating efficiency and lower costs, J.B. Hunt chose IBM Enterprise Content Management (ECM) software to enable its HAWK Power Detention system -- a Business Process Manager (BPM)-driven workflow solution that allows driver delay events at shipping facilities to be captured, administered and invoiced in real-time.

J.B. Hunt's HAWK system is designed to streamline the electronic capture and management of information concerning charges associated with driver delays -- the time between arrival and departure at customer shipping facilities. IBM's content-centric BPM technology enables J.B. Hunt to retrieve important content about driver delay events -- driving customer supply chain solutions through real-time visibility to delay information, improving processes by eliminating repetitive work, and encouraging better driver utilization by faster throughput at shipping facilities. When fully implemented, J.B. Hunt estimates that HAWK will net the company more than $1 million annually.
