JacobsRimell's White Paper Urges Operators to Harness Rapid Product Assembly Using a Data-Driven Approach

JR to Demo Rapid Product Assembly Capability at Management World Americas, Booth # 301

DALLAS, TX--(Marketwire - November 6, 2007) - A new white paper published today by JacobsRimell advises communications service providers to develop a "long tail" of compelling, personalized and timely services through data-driven rapid product assembly. JR will be demonstrating their rapid product assembly capability, as a function of end-to-end product fulfillment, at Management World Americas from November 6-8, 2007 in Dallas, Texas. JR will also be demonstrating their implementation of the OSS/J Order Management and Inventory API's, coupled with the Technical Product Catalogue, and featuring BPEL 2.0 giving operators a highly configurable order enrichment environment facilitating reliable product assembly through activation.

Successfully being applied in the virtual world, the concept of rapid product assembly as outlined in the white paper, is under evaluation by leading operators. Sourcing additional services from third parties and being able to blend or mash them up with their own creates highly attractive, differentiated products.

Commenting on the approach communications service providers should take to when considering rapid product assembly, David Jacobs, CTO and Co-Founder of JacobsRimell, said: "If operators wish to broaden their service portfolios reaping the benefits from mashed or blended third party content and application providers they must embrace a data-driven approach to product creation through fulfillment. JR's implementation of the OSS/J Order Management and Inventory API's coupled with BPEL delivering configurable workflow as part of the fulfillment solution goes a long way to helping operators simplify the creation of a rapid product assembly environment that can complement their existing or legacy operational platforms."

Although initially more complex to implement compared with the traditional siloed approach to fulfillment, data-driven fulfillment is more cost-effective in the long term according to the white paper. Over time, operators can successfully migrate service fulfillment operations to a single platform, delivering a converged operational as well as customer experience and of course reducing total cost of ownership.

JR has been at the forefront of information driven product assembly and fulfillment for more than 10 years. Its APSDP platform is implemented in 15 countries supporting Tier 1 and smaller operators, provisioning more than 20 million multi service subscribers.
