Julie Steamer Joins King & Spalding as Partner


NEW YORK, NY--(Marketwire - November 6, 2007) - King & Spalding, a leading international law firm, announced today that Julie B. Steamer, a transactional lawyer with significant international experience, has joined the firm as a partner in its New York private equity practice.

Steamer joins King & Spalding from Goodwin Procter. She represents private equity, venture capital and hedge fund sponsors, mezzanine investors and other participants in private equity buyout, recapitalization, joint venture and other strategic combinations and financing transactions. She also advises clients on monitoring and managing portfolio company performance and in connection with corporate governance and general corporate matters.

Steamer represents clients in an array of industries and has significant experience in the technology, retail and financial services sectors. At King & Spalding, she expects to add the real estate and energy sectors to her practice, particularly with clients in the Middle East and in Europe.

Steamer earned a B.A. degree, magna cum laude, at Southern Methodist University and a J.D. degree, magna cum laude, at Southern Methodist University School of Law.
