Masri's song, 'The Face' garners RyanDan a nomination for "Best Mainstream Act" for the 2008 Canadian Music Awards

TORONTO, ONTARIO--(Marketwire - Jan. 15, 2008) - Canadian singer/songwriter Mark Masri has much to celebrate as he welcomes the New Year. His song 'The Face', originally written for his young son, has garnered much success for the pop/classical duo RyanDan who released the song as part of their debut self-titled album in November 2007.

'The Face' immediately resonated with fans across Canada and Masri couldn't be more excited. "I wrote the song for my two year old son Lucas as a reminder that I will always be by his side. I was thrilled when my writing partner Stephan Moccio told me that RyanDan wanted to record and release the song on their debut album. The fact that the song is seeing so much success is wonderful, as it has a very special place in my heart."

After the November release of their album, RyanDan was the fastest Canadian act to go gold in 2007. Masri's song, 'The Face' also garnered the duo a nomination for "Best Mainstream Act" for the 2008 Canadian Music Awards; set to be presented on March 7, 2008.

'The Face' was originally recorded by Mark Masri as 'See My Face' and is featured as the title track on Masri's sophomore album set to be released in spring 2008. Masri, a talented songwriter, pianist, vocalist and producer, released his first album in 2000 which garnered a Juno nomination for "Best Gospel Record". His forthcoming record is produced by Toronto-based Lenz Entertainment. Jack Lenz, the executive producer on the album, says he hopes the success of 'The Face' will help showcase Mark's talents and is confident that there's more hits where that one came from.
