KJM Real Estate Launches Green Building Resource Center

LOS ANGELES, CA -- (MARKET WIRE) -- October 16, 2006 -- KJM Real Estate, one of the country's first green real estate brokerages, hosted a party on September 21 to launch their new Green Building Resource Center that they developed in coordination with Global Green USA. The purpose of the event was to introduce the resource center to the public and to raise funds for Global Green USA (, a non-profit organization founded by Mikhail Gorbachev to help people live in the environment more harmoniously in order to create a sustainable future. Bill Clinton, Brad Pitt and other luminaries who are working for environmental progress have developed programs with Global Green.

The Green Building Resource Center is located in KJM's Beverly Hills, Calif. office and includes information and product samples that the public can use to find environmentally friendly products and services for their home construction and renovation projects. "We are honored to be working with Global Green USA on this Green Building Resource Center," explained KJ Marmon, founder and president of KJM Real Estate. "Our hope is to help educate home buyers and people doing home renovations about the benefits of using green materials that are healthy and sustainable. People are often surprised to learn that many choices, such as Energy Star appliances and alternative energy systems will save them money in the form of tax rebates and lower fuel bills."

Sponsors of the event included green companies and organizations, such as Earth Friendly Products, Aveda, American Apparel™, Woodson & Rummerfield's House of Design, Naked Juice, Living Green, Green Building Products, Ecological Home Ideas, Eco-Me, Plug-in-America, Smith & Fong's Plyboo, and Global Green USA. The event was well attended by local business people, real estate brokers, home buyers interested in the green housing market, and various "eco-friendly" supporters.

Marmon founded KJM Real Estate in 2005 and decided to make his firm one that takes responsibility and promotes the importance of sustainable living by educating buyers on "greening" their homes during new construction or renovation. Along with Marmon, KJM has many Realtors® who have earned their EcoBroker certification or are becoming LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) certified, granted by the US Green Building Council (USGBC), of which KJM Real Estate is an active member. The EcoBrokers at KJM can help buyers with environmental issues, energy efficiency, air quality technologies, sustainable energy options, green mortgage options and other green alternatives for their homes.

The Green Building Resource Center is located at KJM Real Estate, 8383 Wilshire Blvd., Suite 99, Beverly Hills, Calif. For more information, call 310-432-7200, or visit
