Keiretsu Forum International Chapter Expansion Continues Into Spain
Newest Angel Investment Chapter to Launch in Barcelona on October 1
SAN FRANCISCO, CA--(Marketwire - September 25, 2007) - Keiretsu Forum, North America's largest
investment community of private equity (angel) investors, VCs and corporate
investors, will launch its thirteenth chapter in Barcelona on October 1.
The opening of Keiretsu Forum's second international chapter comes just
months after new Keiretsu Forum chapters opened in Denver and Beijing. The
Barcelona opening also coincides with the Keiretsu Forum chapter launch in
London on October 3 and the opening of the fourth Bay Area chapter, North
Bay, on October 24.
"Our angel investing community has grown to more than 650 members worldwide
since we started Keiretsu Forum seven year ago in the San Francisco Bay
Area," said Randy Williams, Keiretsu Forum Founder/CEO. "We are proud and
inspired by the international growth of our investment community."
Xavier Casares, a Barcelona native, will lead Keiretsu Forum's Barcelona
chapter. He has directed professional projects in Madrid, London, Lisbon,
and in the south of France. Xavier began his professional career in the
financial sector for Bank Santander and Sabadell. Following his
experience in the financial sector, Xavier spent eight years in top
positions for the government of Cataluña and six years for Grupo Godó
(publisher of "La Vanguardia," the most prominent newspaper in Cataluña).
He is a partner and Director of an entrepreneurial internet company, NET2U,
based in Zaragoza (Spain).
Xavier holds a legal degree from the University of Barcelona and an MBA
from the IESE business school in Barcelona.
"Barcelona has the full support of the financial, legal, university, and
government sectors as we bring a new type of business -- angel investing --
to Spain," says Casares. "Our new members represent private equity
investing at its best, and their investments will be of great benefit to
the Spanish economy."
Admission to the Barcelona launch is by invitation only and all attendees
must be knowledgeable investors. One American Keiretsu Forum portfolio
company, Earth Class Mail, will present to Spanish investors along with two
Spanish companies.
New companies who would like to be considered for investment, or potential
angel investors interested in joining any of the fifteen Keiretsu Forum
chapters worldwide, should visit www.keiretsuforum.com.
