KidSport Kids Gain First-Hand Olympic Experience With Support of Wonder+

In the spirit of the Games, Wonder+ provides nine KidSport athletes with the chance of a lifetime

RICHMOND, BRITISH COLUMBIA--(Marketwire - Feb. 19, 2010) - Nine KidSport kids from the Metro Vancouver area experienced first hand the excitement of watching an Olympic Men's Hockey game thanks to an ongoing partnership with Wonder+.

Hosted in Wonder+'s private suite, KidSport athletes from the Mission, Sunshine Coast, and North Shore community chapters attended the February 18, 2010 Olympic Men's Hockey Game between the United States and Norway. To complete the experience, 2008 Olympic Gold Medalist, Carol Huynh, and 2004 Olympic Gold Medalist Kyle Shewfelt, both KidSport supporters, joined the event, making it an evening to remember.

"Watching the Olympics with a fantastic group of appreciative children who share my love for sport really reminded me of what sport is all about - inclusivity for all," said Huynh, whose gold medal in wrestling was Canada's first in the 2008 Beijing Summer Olympic Games. "Thank you to Wonder+ and KidSport for including me in this wonderful experience."

"Since the Olympics were awarded to Vancouver, I dreamt about bringing my kids to an event," said Steve, a parent of one of the KidSport athletes. "It didn't look like it was going to be possible, then I got the invitation from KidSport and Wonder+ and my dream of taking my kids to the Olympics came true. Thank you."

This initiative is the first event following a partnership between KidSport and Wonder+ that began in early 2010. For the months of January and February 2010, whenever a Wonder+ product is purchased, 10 cents is donated to KidSport with the ultimate goal of contributing $70,000 by the end of the Vancouver 2010 Olympic Winter Games.

Since its inception in 1993, KidSport has enabled over 250,000 children to play sport across the country. KidSport is now present in over 175 communities across Canada and continues to expand its reach to ensure children nationwide have the opportunity to experience and participate in organized sport.
