Kids the focus for first Sport Chek Kids Game on Monday, Oct. 8

OTTAWA, ONTARIO--(Marketwire - Oct. 6, 2007) - The Ottawa Senators will feature four Sport Chek Kids Games throughout the season, with the first on Monday, Oct. 8, when the New Jersey Devils visit Scotiabank Place at 3 p.m.

Every Sport Chek Kids Game offers 25 per cent off on tickets and a free Sens baseball cap. This special is available for kids 16 and under, with a maximum 1,000 tickets available per game, and excludes the Coca-Cola Zero Zone, standing room and The Ledge Carvery & Bar.

Kids Opening Day on Monday will also feature a guest anthem singer and public address announcer, and a ceremonial puck drop.

Eleven-year-old Alyssa Radulescu of Ottawa will sing the American and Canadian anthems. Radulescu has performed at many private and public events in Ottawa. Stefano Napolitano, a 12-year-old wanna-be-announcer, will assist Stuntman Stu with the public-address announcements during the game.

Jesse Kilvington and Keegan Hopkinson, 14-year-olds from the Ottawa-Centre Bantam Boys B2 BBQ's hockey team, will take part in the ceremonial face-off. Kilvington and Hopkinson are representing their team and the Ottawa Year End Minor Hockey Tournament that raised more than $54,000 for the Sens Foundation and its charity of choice, Roger's House. Their team set out to collect pledges based on the number of successful passes they achieved during their tournament games. The B2 BBQ's made it all the way the finals of the tournament, playing five games and recording 208 successful passes.

Fewer than 750 tickets remain for Saturday's game against the New York Rangers and 1,750 for Thanksgiving Monday.

Tickets can be purchased online at, by phone at 613-599-FANS (3267) or 1-877-788-FANS (3267); in person at any Sport Experts location in the Ottawa-Gatineau area and at the Scotiabank Place box office.
