Kleer Eliminates Barrier Between Portable and Home Wireless Audio

New Hardware Features Create One-Stop Source for Personal and Home Audio Wireless Products

CUPERTINO, CA--(Marketwire - December 15, 2009) - Kleer, the company behind some of the world's best-sounding wireless audio devices, today announced a new release of its flagship KLR3012 wireless audio module. The KLR3012 version 1.9 enables consumer electronic brands to standardize on a single wireless radio platform for both portable and home audio applications. Kleer will demonstrate its new technology at CES 2010 Las Vegas, January 7-10, 2010. In addition, the company will be demonstrating an iPhone/iPod Touch reference application that will turn those devices into a home audio portable music hub.

"Consumers want to mix and match their music sources with a variety of personal and home audio listening choices," said Steve Humphreys, Kleer president and CEO. "With Kleer, consumer electronics companies can now easily design, manufacture and market an ecosystem of seamlessly interoperable wireless personal and home audio products such as headphones, earbuds, speakers, and home theater systems."

About the iPhone App and KLR3012

With the latest enhancements, only the Kleer KLR3012 multi-purpose radio module can bridge the gap between the compact, low-power requirements of portable wireless audio devices such as earbuds, and the low-latency, long-distance, low-interference needs of the home audio environment. This is especially true where a variety of headphones, speakers and docking stations compete for connectivity in the ISM band with WiFi hot spots, Bluetooth smart phones and other wireless devices. The Kleer KLR3012 v1.9 module consists of a custom 2.4 GHZ ISM band radio along with the associated passive components necessary to produce lossless, low-power, low-interference wireless audio.

New features of the KLR3012 v1.9 include:

-- Whole-home range (100m indoor line of sight) to deliver CD-quality
    audio wherever it is needed.
-- The KleerControl™ back channel for song selection and audio meta-
data forwarding (artist, album art, etc.) that works on distributed
receivers, in a separate remote control or via a separate application on a
    portable media player or PC.
-- Low latency (less than 25ms) for the most demanding home audio and TV
    applications.
-- Updates to the KleerStream Baseband Radio Quality of Service that
include dynamic channel switching, antenna diversity, delivery verification
and an extremely small ISM band footprint to ensure minimum interference
with the growing presence of multiple WiFi and Bluetooth radios in the home
    and car.

"Our products have won numerous awards for wireless audio quality using Kleer's low power and best-in-class coexistence," said Mark Krywko, CEO of Sleek Audio. "Having these advances extended into wireless home audio I expect to see more award winning products in the very near future."

The iPhone/iPod Touch application leverages the KleerControl functionality and the KLR3012 hardware update. The application can be adapted and enhanced by Kleer OEM and ODM partners to offer consumers finger-tip control over how and where their music is distributed. Through the seamless interaction between the application and the KLR3012 hardware, an iPhone or iPod Touch is transformed into a wireless music hub that can transmit music to a choice of home audio components including speakers and high-quality home audio headphones and earbuds.

Kleer is attending CES 2010 Las Vegas, January 7-10, 2010 and will be demonstrating the full range of multi-vendor ecosystem interoperability. Please contact Kleer at sales@kleer.com to book a private meeting at the Kleer Hilton Suite.
