Knovel Named a 2010 CODiE Award Finalist

Knovel Debuts as Finalist for Best Online Science or Technology Service in the Content Category

NEW YORK, NY--(Marketwire - December 7, 2009) - Knovel, an online resource that helps engineers find reliable technical information faster, today announces it is a finalist for "Best Online Science or Technology Service" in the content category of the Software & Information Industry Association's (SIIA's) 2010 CODiE Awards. Forty-eight products from 30 companies were selected as finalists from among over 100 nominations submitted by 65 companies.

"We are honored to be recognized as a finalist for the prestigious CODiE award, and we congratulate all of the companies that made the short list this year," said Chris Forbes, Knovel president and CEO. "For nearly a decade, engineers have trusted Knovel to provide reliable online technical information. Our renewal rates have historically exceeded 95%, but we never rest on our laurels. We continually advance our content, search and interactive tools to make sure engineers have access to the best product available."

The products that qualified will be reviewed by members of SIIA, who will vote on winners for all 15 categories. The winners will be announced at a special CODiE Awards Dinner on January 26, 2010 which will be held in conjunction with the SIIA 2010 Information Industry Summit.

"This is the twenty-fifth year we have recognized excellence through the CODiE Awards program, and the ninth year we have offered awards in the content categories," noted Ken Wasch, President of SIIA. "The competition is tough, as many companies are looking to make their products stand out from the competition. The innovations in the content industry shine through in the products selected as finalists, and we are very excited to see how the voting goes this year."

In November 2009, Knovel announced the availability of personalization features and functionality that facilitate how engineers gather and interact with engineering information. These new features, called My Knovel, are a natural extension of Knovel's proven search capabilities and unique interactive tools.
