LIVESTRONG® Named Beneficiary of 2nd Annual Mellow Johnny's Spring Classic

Mountain Bike Race Weekend at Lance Armstrong's Texas Ranch Supports the Fight Against Cancer

AUSTIN, TX--(Marketwire - April 16, 2010) -  LIVESTRONG is pleased to be named the beneficiary of the 2nd Annual Mellow Johnny's Spring Classic, a mountain bike race weekend on a 450-acre ranch in Dripping Springs, Texas owned by LIVESTRONG founder and chairman, cancer survivor and champion cyclist Lance Armstrong, held May 29-30, 2010.

Early registration for the 2010 Mellow Johnny's Spring Classic opens on April 15 at http://www.livestrong.org/site/c.khLXK1PxHmF/b.5915523/k.267B/TEAM_LIVESTRONG__Mellow_Classic_Waiver.htm to the first 200 cyclists who promise a $250 fundraising minimum as a LIVESTRONG supporting participant. Standard registration for the race, which is now included on the 2010 Professional Cross-Country Tour (Pro XCT) schedule, opens on May 1 at www.bikereg.com

"The Mellow Johnny's Spring Classic is the perfect event to leverage common resources for the fight against cancer," said Armstrong. "And it offers participants a double bonus: they get to have fun for an important cause all at the same time."

Craig Staley, Mellow Johnny's General Manager said, "We're thrilled to be offering the LIVESTRONG registration option for the 2010 Mellow Johnny's Spring Classic. With the addition of the event to the Pro XCT, and the strong LIVESTRONG presence from last year's event, it was a very natural progression for us to offer an even larger platform to help spread the LIVESTRONG message."

Last year, 2004 Olympian and multi-time US national champion, Jeremy Horgan-Kobelski, won the professional race. Similar to last year, professional cyclists will compete on Sat., May 29. For updates on the Mellow Johnny's Spring Classic, visit www.mellowclassic.blogspot.com.
