Lakeland Industries Introduces New Product for Pharmaceutical and Aseptic Applications

RONKONKOMA, NY--(Marketwire - October 9, 2007) - Lakeland Industries, Inc. (NASDAQ: LAKE), a market leader in protective apparel, today announced that it has begun shipment of a new product for pharmaceutical and aseptic applications. This new product is a high density woven, anti-static garment for clean room uses. The garments are anti-microbial and have strong repellant barriers to provide a high level of protection and comfort within a clean room environment.

The first shipments of this garment, to a leading North American provider of branded uniforms, will generate approximately $1.4 million in sales and are expected to ship during Lakeland's fiscal 2008 third and fourth quarters. Lakeland has begun marketing this new product line to select end-users and distributors, initially targeting the pharmaceutical industry and later more extensively within the healthcare and high technology markets.

"We are pleased to see early acceptance of our woven garments divisions' new product line aimed at the pharmaceutical industry. Our initial large order represents the emergence of new product revenues replacing lost disposable garment revenues over the past six months," said Christopher Ryan, Chief Executive Officer of Lakeland Industries, Inc.
