Lantronix XPort Pro Wins EDN Magazine's 20th Annual Innovation Awards

Tiny Linux Networking Server Takes Top Prize in Embedded-System Technology Category

IRVINE, CA--(Marketwire - May 3, 2010) -  Lantronix, Inc. ( (NASDAQ: LTRX), global provider of secure, network-enabling technologies, has won EDN Magazine's 20th Annual Innovation Awards for its XPort Pro Linux Networking Server in the Embedded-System Technology category.

XPort Pro, Lantronix' most powerful self-contained embedded networking module, targets advanced edge device applications across a variety of markets including medical, industrial, energy and security. The product's powerful 32-bit architecture and extensible, standards-based Linux software platform provides developers an ideal, all-in-one compute and connectivity solution.

"This was a challenging yet rewarding project for Lantronix. We had to create customized silicon and mechanical design to fit a complete, industrial temperature rated Linux server, with a network connector, all into a package the size of two sugar cubes," said Daryl Miller, VP of engineering at Lantronix. "We are thrilled to have this innovation recognized by EDN and its readers. This award win is consistent with the strong interest and demand for XPort Pro. Lantronix is happy to share XPort Pro with developers worldwide. Our current design contest will showcase some of the more novel ways the product can be used by our customers."

"Innovation has continued aggressively throughout the economic downturn, as evidenced by EDN's 20th annual Innovation Award winners," said Rick Nelson, EDN's editor-in-chief. "Thirty products won out over more than 130 finalists in very competitive categories. The Lantronix XPort Pro, which won in the Embedded-System Technology category, is a prime example of what key innovators can accomplish."

XPort Pro offers a variety of robust data encryption and authentication options. The product's Software Developer Kit (SDK), with IPv6 support, is an integrated embedded hardware and software suite that provides a validated set of Linux-based applications, an extensive software library, a board support package (BSP) and device drivers that allow designers to create custom tailored products.
