The event will recognize local leaders who have contributed greatly to the Inland Empire Latino community. Nosotros Inc. is a non-profit organization founded by Chairman Ricardo Montalbán in 1970 dedicated to improving the presence and image of Latinos in the film industry both in front of and behind the cameras. Proceeds from this year's event will be used to underwrite some of the many educational programs that Nosotros provides to the performing arts community, which will include the Inland Empire.

Frank Escobedo, associate publisher for La Prensa, states, "The timing was right on our 10-year anniversary for Fiesta de la Familia, to establish an event recognizing some of our top Latinos in the region surrounded by Familia; Nosotros was a natural fit for our support of the performing arts and music of Fiesta de La Familia."

CEO Suzanna "Suzie" Colón, whose firm The Strategic Approach was instrumental in bringing all the parties together and architecting the event, states, "This is a big step to help bring more attention and recognition to Latinos in the performing arts and do it with a great organization and a committed corporate sponsor such as State Farm, all the while recognizing the contributions and efforts for business and individual accomplishment. The response to the event has been very supportive, with sponsors as Wilshire Advertising, American Mortgage, and others coming on board every day."

Nomination forms for recognition are currently available for download from the event's Web site at www.latinosofdistinction.com.
