Launch Announcement: Trade Show Executive Introduces New Dashboard of Trade Show Performance; Seven Shows in October Surpass Benchmarks

OCEANSIDE, CA--(Marketwire - December 3, 2009) - October was a challenging month for trade shows, with the average show declining (18.0)% in net square feet of exhibit space, (6.8)% in number of exhibiting companies and (7.4)% in total attendance, according to Trade Show Executive's new Dashboard of Trade Show Metrics. Yet seven shows managed to rise above the average in every measure of growth and beat the benchmarks, including:

-- The Association of the United States Army (AUSA) Annual Meeting & Exposition;

-- High Point Market - October;

-- International Vision Expo West;

-- Mid-American Beauty Classic

-- NACS - The Association for Convenience & Petroleum Retailing Show;

-- Premiere Birmingham; and

-- Produce Marketing Association Fresh Summit International Convention & Exposition

"The new monthly Dashboard was created by TSE to give show organizers and CEOs a fast read on trade show performance at a time when up-to-date, quality information is paramount to making decisions in today's business world," said Darlene Gudea, president of Trade Show Executive Media Group. "We recognize that simple statistics don't tell the full story about a show, and year-over-year growth is not the key factor in a show's value to the industry it services." The TSE Dashboard provides the traditional metrics of show growth but also lists other significant characteristics and accomplishments - quality of attendees, international attendance, sales transactions, conference and sponsorship growth, etc.

Trade Show Executive's next Dashboard will be expanded. It covers the month of November and will be published in both the January issue and digital edition online. For more information and to see the December issue Dashboard, visit
