Leading Independent Research Firm's Report Calls dynaTrace's Solution "On Fire"

New Report Analyzes the Convergence of APM and BTM and Finds That dynaTrace Exemplifies This Trend

BOSTON, MA--(Marketwire - June 22, 2010) -  dynaTrace software, the technology leader in application performance management (APM), today announced that a report from Forrester Research, Inc. has recognized the company's solution as exemplifying the convergence between Business Transaction Management (BTM) and Application Performance Management (APM). The research report(1) from Forrester, titled "Tech Horizons: dynaTrace, When BTM Meets APM" (May 2010), evaluates dynaTrace and gives the company a rating of "on fire" -- the highest possible rating.

Jean-Pierre Garbini, VP and Principal Analyst at Forrester, writes in the report: "IT and business services have grown tremendously in size, diversity and complexity... To maintain the quality of service expected by the business and contain escalating costs, IT needs help. IT management tools and especially APM and BTM tools should provide this help by pre-analyzing problems and issues so that engineers can resolve them as quickly and efficiently as possible."

"dynaTrace exemplifies this convergence between APM and BTM," the report continues. "dynaTrace's approach to application performance management combines the BTM feature of tracing individual transactions through the infrastructure with the monitoring capabilities of an APM product."

The report evaluates dynaTrace on the following 4 dimensions: "the potential market that the product addresses; the likelihood of the product's adoption, based on its technical and economic advantages; the obstacles to adoption; and finally, the ability of the company to execute in the potential market." Based on these criteria, the Forrester report rated dynaTrace a 94 out of 100, a score that earned Forrester's highest mark of "On Fire."

"As our IT customers look for better ways to support their respective businesses, the need for transparency into important application metrics and key business transactions is accelerating," said Toffer Winslow, chief marketing officer of dynaTrace. "Our unique transaction-pure approach to APM allows us to deliver powerful BTM capabilities, which in turn enables our customers to get more value from their dynaTrace investment. We're delighted to be recognized in Forrester's Tech Horizons research for exemplifying the convergence of BTM and APM."
