LearningRx Introduces New Reading Program for Pre-School, Kindergarten and First Graders

Program Uses Cognitive Skills Training to Give Kids an Edge in Beginning Education

BETHESDA, MD -- (MARKET WIRE) -- June 22, 2005 -- The program is called "Lift-Off" and true to its name, the 12-week program is designed to help pre-school, kindergarten and first graders develop the reading and learning skills they need to begin their educational journey. One-on-one training is available in the LearningRx Bethesda office just off Old Georgetown Pike.

Noting that 37% of fourth graders in America currently read below the second-grade level, LearningRx Education Director Sabra Ingall sees the Lift-Off Program as a way to reverse an alarming trend. "Over the last decade, we have learned a lot about how children learn, and we can now help them remove any individual barriers to learning before they become ingrained." Ingall described the Lift-Off Program as a reading and learning skills training technique that uses repetition to train the brain to improve phonemic awareness and other key pre-reading and learning skills. "We are using this same technique to reverse many learning difficulties in children of all ages, and are beginning to see changes in attitude as well as performance. We are taking a proactive approach to helping children with learning difficulties before these challenges adversely impact their lives."
