Macdonald Day

OTTAWA, ONTARIO--(CCNMatthews - Jan. 11, 2005) - To mark the anniversary
of the birth of Sir John A. Macdonald , Library and Archives Canada
offers a virtual tour about a man whose impact on the history of Canada
was significant.

In 1856, John A. Macdonald became "Prime Minister" of the Province of
Canada. He was a driving force behind Confederation, and it was because

fourth election.
