Life Insurance Settlement Association Opens Its Largest Professional Conference to Date

ORLANDO, FL--(Marketwire - October 25, 2007) - The Life Insurance Settlement Association (LISA) kicks off this weekend in New York City, what promises to be its largest conference ever. The LISA 13th Annual Fall Conference begins this Sunday with a reception welcoming more than 500 registered attendees. The following two days offer attendees an extraordinary lineup of prominent speakers addressing the most significant issues facing the life settlement industry to date. The conference presents a constructive platform for attendees to engage each other on the latest industry research, business developments and legislative updates, among many other issues. Participants will take advantage of the exclusive networking opportunities available in a variety of forums.

For the first time in history, LISA will likely reach capacity before the opening day of the fall event. "Our conferences are popular because of their timely coverage of industry issues, life settlement expertise, and, in some instances, controversial speakers," says Doug Head, LISA Executive Director. Addressing an issue that can be quite controversial is Darwin Bayston CPA, of Life Settlement Consulting and Management LLC. Mr. Bayston's presentation, "Life Expectancies: A Growing Concern for Investors" will draw attendees' attention to his recently published article entitled "Life Settlement Risks - Lessons from the Sub-Prime Mortgage Market." Drawing upon the recent collapse of the sub-prime mortgage, Mr. Bayston offers a unique insight into the future of life settlement industry and how investors might benefit from lessons learned. As in conferences past, attendees will profit from the seasoned counsel of industry experts. Topics to be covered include taxation implications, regulatory models, institutional investors, investment strategies, LE's and best practices, and others. While the LISA conference covers a broad array of issues, attendees receive a highly focused and business-specific experience.

This year, the conference concludes with a speech from the Honorable New York State Senator John A. DeFrancisco. Full conference details, registration and the agenda, may be found on the LISA website:
