Little Lady Foods Celebrates 25 Years as Industry Leader in Customized Frozen Food Manufacturing

ELK GROVE VILLAGE, IL--(Marketwire - May 4, 2010) -  A celebration gets underway at this year's National Restaurant Association show in Chicago, when Little Lady Foods celebrates its 25th year as one of the world's leading manufacturers of custom-made food products for food service and retail industries.

The Company which specializes in highly customized frozen food such as premium pizzas, gourmet sandwiches, and portable hand-held items was founded in Wrigleyville, a Chicago neighborhood, 50 years ago. But it was restaurateur, Angelo Geocaris, who bought the small Company in 1984 and took his locally famous Barnaby's pizza into grocery stores nationwide, catapulting Little Lady Foods into the manufacturing limelight for the global and food service sectors.

Over the past 25 years, the Company has changed and grown with the increasing needs and desires of time-strapped consumers who demand quality, convenience, healthy ingredients and value. Today, Little Lady Foods ideates, develops and manufactures products for some of the most popular restaurants and food companies worldwide.

According to CEO, Dan Scales, "Authentic Customization has taken the company from its first plant in Wrigleyville to three manufacturing facilities in the Midwest. Customers benefit from our customization expertise and count on us to provide them with the manufacturing scale to take them from regional test to national rollout."

Little Lady Foods' success is attributable to its on-going commitment to delivering quality, flavor, variety, food safety and speed to market with highly customizable products that meet the needs of its customers and emerging trends with today's consumers. The Company has received SQF (Safe Quality Food) Certifications and has received the American Institute of Baking's highest rating of "Superior" every year since 1995.

"For over fifteen years the NRA has been an ideal venue to showcase our product innovations," says Peter Cokinos, Senior Vice President of Sales and Marketing. "And, this year is no different. Little Lady Foods will present a variety of options for foodservice operators that deliver on demands for convenience, portability and individual serving sizes with our Pizzas for One and Flatbread Foldovers. These items utilize a variety of crusts and on-trend flavors such as our single-serve Mediterranean veggie pizza on an ultra thin cracker style crust as well as our Pollo Asada foldover made with a chile lime infused flatbread."

In addition to working with customers bringing to market some of the most on-trend products during this anniversary year, Little Lady Foods plans a year-long celebration of its success by increasing its involvement with the Greater Chicago Food Depository. The Company has kicked off a program that increases product donations and provides employees with paid time-off to volunteer at the Food Bank's facilities.
