Livedress.com Re-Launches With 35,000 Stores

Shopping Site Now Covers Ninety-Five Percent of Canadian Fashion Retailers and Has a Stylish New Look

TORONTO--(Marketwire - December 12, 2009) - Livedress.com (www.livedress.com), the fashion site that connects shoppers with their favorite stores, is re-launching with 35,000 retailer listings spanning the entire country. The site launched a beta version in November 2008. Shoppers can now find virtually any retailer in their city -- wherever that may be -- to stay updated on merchandise, deals, reviews, and more. The re-launch also includes a fresh look and improved functionality.

"This site is going to empower shoppers and retailers across the country," says founder Jonathan Davids. "Social networking has influenced many parts of society already and we're bringing it to the world of fashion."

The website combines a directory-style search engine with social networking tools. Shoppers can search for stores by entering their city and browsing the most popular shops nearby. Alternatively, the shopper can search for a specific store by entering a name or category, such as "shoes."

Once they're hooked, shoppers create an account to follow their favorite stores, which keeps them in the loop on new arrivals, offers, blogs, and more. The shopper homepage acts as a feed, constantly updating when selected stores post something. Shoppers can also add friends to share each others' content.

The goal is to create a site that can be customized for each shopper.

For retailers, Livedress.com is a powerful marketing tool. Any store owner can register and maintain their store page, at no cost. Well-maintained stores appear higher in search results.

The company makes money through ad sales and national advertisers have taken to the site quickly. Clients include Danier, Chrysler, and Virgin Mobile. Livedress.com recently sponsored the high-profile holiday party for the Ad Club of Toronto (see video).

When the beta version launched, The Globe and Mail said, "It looks like someone has had the brilliant idea of combining the drug-like lure of Facebook with the thrill of bargain hunting."
