Local 4-H Youth Participate in GROWMARK's Annual Meeting

KITCHENER, ONTARIO--(Marketwire - Oct. 6, 2009) - Stephanie Warner of Hastings and Olivia Groniger of Carlsbad Springs recently represented 4-H Ontario's youth at the 2009 GROWMARK, Inc. Annual Meeting in Chicago.

Warner and Groniger received this opportunity through 4-H Ontario's Ambassador Program in which GROWMARK and UPI Energy jointly sponsor each year for the past four years since the program's inception.

The two women were selected as one of six 4-H Ontario Ambassadors to help spread awareness about 4-H throughout the province. "I feel very fortunate to be selected to attend GROWMARK's Annual Meeting and proud to represent Ontario's 4-H Program," says Warner. She recently graduated from Fleming College with an Educational Assistant diploma and has aspirations to run the family dairy farm.

Groniger and Warner were chosen for this opportunity because of their enthusiasm towards leadership development and their strong support of 4-H. "4-H provides excellent youth development programs with many opportunities and clubs to fit the diversity of its membership," says Groniger, "and adding this trip to Chicago was a highlight of my year." This fall, Groniger is attending the University of Ontario Institute of Technology to obtain a degree in nursing.

Each year, GROWMARK provides travel opportunities to six exemplary youth who have shown dedication to Ontario youth development. Chosen youth travel to Chicago to learn more about GROWMARK and network with business people and other young leaders. As part of their experience, Groniger and Warner along with other Ontario youth from Junior Farmers' Association of Ontario and the Ontario Co-operative Association Co-op Young Leaders Program participated in the annual meeting's grand opening ceremonies and had an opportunity to tour the Chicago Board of Trade, sponsored by AGRIS Co-operative Ltd.
