The ABI Research Mobile Banking: U.S. Banks Report Card evaluated 29 U.S. banks based on reach, breadth of services offered, security and discoverability to determine the industry leaders. BB&T's mobile banking operations were rated as "exceptional" based on the research criteria.

Javelin Strategy and Research's Mobile Banking Scorecard ranked 20 of the nation's 40 largest banks on their consumer mobile banking offerings based on three criteria: Features, Access and Marketing. BB&T was ranked and awarded Silver status for its overall results. It scored 100 percent in the Marketing category for promoting mobile banking.
