Los Angeles Dodgers and Weingart Center Association Team Up to Help Strike Out Homelessness

LOS ANGELES, CA--(Marketwire - October 30, 2007) - The Los Angeles Dodgers are Hometown Hero Sponsors of The Weingart Center Association's (WCA) 16th annual CityLive "Striking Out Homelessness And Poverty" event. The event will be held on the field and under the lights of Dodger Stadium on November 7, 2007, and will benefit the important programs and services for homeless men and women provided by WCA.

This spectacular, once-in-a-lifetime event gives attendees the chance to: take batting practice at home plate, catch fly balls in the outfield, tour the Dodger Clubhouse, test their pitching speed against the radar gun in the bullpen, and meet current and former Dodger players, including Sweet Lou Johnson, Andre Ethier and Ron Cey. WCA expanded the event this year to include a five-game softball tournament prior to the evening event. Teams consisting of brokers from major commercial real estate companies will compete to play against an all-star landlord team of major commercial high-rise building owners and developers.

In addition to these fun festivities, the event includes tributes to two civic leaders -- Robert A. Ortiz, Executive Managing Director, U.S. Operations, Cushman & Wakefield and Dean M. Weiner, Esq., Retired Partner, O'Melveny & Meyers and Retired WCA Board Member -- for their outstanding charitable services and concern for the community.

"We are looking forward to a very exciting, fun-filled evening of baseball dreams come true," says Brian D. Ulf, Event Chairman and WCA Board of Directors member. "This is an excellent occasion to treat your family, friends, business clients and associates to a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity at Dodger Stadium, as well as help WCA expand its important homeless services."

This all-day event at Dodger Stadium on November 7, 2007 begins with the softball tournament at 11:00 a.m. followed by the evening festivities from 6:00 to 9:30 p.m. Some of the corporate event sponsors include: O'Melveny & Meyers, Cushman & Wakefield, Unified Western Grocers, The Sheridan Group, Kayo Clothing, ValleyCrest, Grant Thornton, Automobile Club of Southern California, Macquarie Cook Energy, Land America Southland Title, Deutsche Bank, Kawada Hotel, Union Bank, Willis, PGP Capital, Entravision Communications, and Young's Market.
