Luxenberg, Johnson & Dickens Honored With Constance L. Belfiore Quality of Life Award

Bar Association of the District of Columbia Selects Bethesda Family Law Practice for Its Commitment to Work - Life Balance

WASHINGTON, DC--(Marketwire - December 16, 2009) - Luxenberg, Johnson & Dickens, PC, announced today that it has been awarded the 12th Annual Constance L. Belfiore Quality of Life award by the Bar Association of the District of Columbia (BADC). The award, named after past BADC president, recognizes employers who provide quality of life for their lawyers -- which is increasingly important in these difficult economic times where many people are asked to work more for less.

Luxenberg, Johnson & Dickens, a small family law practice serving clients in Maryland, Virginia and the District of Columbia was chosen for this honor for its support of professional/personal time balance, flexible work arrangements and professional development. The firm has also demonstrated a long-term commitment to supporting diversity in the workplace and investing in the community. In addition to serving on numerous legal organizations' boards and committees, partners in the firm regularly handle pro bono cases, helping clients who are unable to pay for services.

"The firm of Luxenberg, Johnson & Dickens, PC, richly deserves the Constance L. Belfiore Quality of Life Award for their time-honored commitment to legal excellence and to quality of life," said Belfiore, Former President, Bar Association of the District of Columbia. "The firm specializes in domestic relations/family law, and is remarkable for how it takes a team approach to every case, pulls together in trying times, has each other's back in the heat of battle, and actively encourages each other to take time to enjoy personal lives and regular breaks from heavy work. Plus, they really like each other, and their staff even includes Daisy, Debby's dog, who is an expert in the field of comforting clients and easing tension in the emotionally-charged atmosphere of domestic relations cases."

"When establishing the firm, 34 years ago, I set out to create an environment where people would feel comfortable coming to work every day, engage in personal relationships with their co-workers and collaborate as a team to do the very best for our clients," said Deb Luxenberg. "We are honored to receive this award which reinforces our commitment to making a difference in people's lives through a work place that supports and nurtures the people we employ."
