Luxury Bath and Habitat for Humanity Partner to Benefit Reno Family

RENO, NV--(Marketwire - May 3, 2010) -  Luxury Bath of Reno joined forces with Truckee Meadows Habitat for Humanity to build and install a custom roll-in shower that will allow a 10-year-old boy named Jesse Eligio to use a shower for the first time in years.

When Jesse was six he was a victim of a car accident that left him paralyzed from the neck down. After hearing about the Eligio's situation, Truckee Meadows Habitat for Humanity, with help from local businesses, agreed to remodel an existing Habitat home.

Businesses and volunteers from across northern Nevada have donated their time and materials to assist Habitat for Humanity in remodeling a three-bedroom home on Kings Row in Reno. The renovations include a 600 square foot addition that is affectionately titled, "Jesse's Wing." The remodel also features back and front yard cement ramps for wheelchair accessibility.

One business playing a significant role is Luxury Bath of Reno. Luxury Bath is a bathroom remodeling company specializing in bath to shower conversions, safety showers and walk-in baths. "We heard about Jesse's story and we knew that this was a project we were meant to help with," said Alan Hansen, President of Luxury Bath of Reno.

The Eligio's needed a shower large-enough for a wheelchair and two adults to be in it at the same time. Luxury Bath of Reno built and installed a 7' x 4' custom-designed shower pan to be flush with the floor to allow the wheel chair to safely roll in and out. They also added safety grab bars and a pole-mounted shower head, making the shower certified as an ADA medical device.

The Luxsan™ material with Microban® is guaranteed to resist mold, mildew and bacteria -- the shower is very low-maintenance which is great for the busy Eligio family. "The shower is beautiful and their installer, Lemoin Skiles, went above and beyond to install the unit with perfection," said Gigi Parris, Construction Manager, Habitat for Humanity.

Since 1991, Luxury Bath, Incorporated, a nationwide franchise, has been designing, manufacturing and installing high quality baths, showers, whirlpools, soaking tubs and surround walls. Luxury Bath of Reno became a Luxury Bath franchise in October of 2009. Previously serving the Reno area as Re-Bath of Northern Nevada, a Re-Bath franchise since 2007, they made the move to Luxury Bath in order to deliver the best product, service and support to Reno customers.
