What: Media preview of "Intersections of South Central: People and Places in Historic and Contemporary Photographs," an exhibit which opens at the California African American Museum on Thursday, Nov. 16, which goes beyond myth and misunderstanding to show a vibrant neighborhood which is truly a community. The exhibit covers 70 years of life in South Los Angeles and is sponsored by the Automobile Club of Southern California. The exhibit will extend through April 28, 2007. Black and white vintage location photographs culled from the Automobile Club of Southern California Archives, the Los Angeles Unified School District photo collection, the Harry Adams Jr. Collection at Cal State Northridge and the Huntington Library. These images are paired with modern color images shot in 2006 by several accomplished contemporary African American photographers. When: 6: p.m. Thursday, Nov. 16.
