MEDIA ADVISORY: Cadence Seeks Silicon Valley Beneficiary for 2008 Stars & Strikes Fundraiser

SAN JOSE, CA--(Marketwire - September 26, 2007) -

WHO: Cadence Design Systems, Inc. (NASDAQ: CDNS), the leader in global electronic-design innovation.

WHAT: Cadence® is seeking funding proposals from Silicon Valley non-profit organizations to be the beneficiary of its 2008 Stars & Strikes® fundraising event.

Underwritten by the company, the annual Stars & Strikes fundraiser and bowling tournament is the Cadence flagship community involvement event that brings together local companies to raise funds for Silicon Valley charities.

Proposals that will be considered are renovation or new construction projects, which improve or increase the nonprofit organization's ability to provide services and will have lasting impact on those served, as well as on the community.

Since the amount raised can exceed $750,000 for a single beneficiary, Cadence looks for lead or capstone contribution opportunities. The potential to generate leveraged or matched funding resulting from the Stars & Strikes contribution is highly desirable.

WHERE: Submit proposals to Kathy Wheeler at kwheeler@cadence.com or mail to her attention at Cadence Design Systems, Inc., 2655 Seely Ave., Building 5, San Jose, CA 95134. More information and the request for proposal document is available at: www.cadence.com/company/community/ssbeneficiaries.aspx

WHEN: Deadline for proposals is 5 p.m. Wednesday, October 31, 2007.

About the Stars & Strikes Fundraising Event

Since 1990, Cadence has designated Silicon Valley non-profit organizations to receive funds raised through its fundraising effort called Stars & Strikes. To date, the event has netted over $10 million.

In 2007, the Stars & Strikes fundraiser raised over $1,300,000; the majority of which went to Women's Initiative for Self-Employment, which provides high-potential, low-income women training to start and grow their own business. The business management training, technical assistance, and financing services they provide -- in English and Spanish -- improve the quality of life for the women, their families, and our communities. The donation will help Women's Initiative purchase a building in San Jose that will eventually serve 2,000 women each year.

"We've been planning with the City of San Jose and community leaders
for well over a year to move forward with extending our program into
the South Bay. With the Stars & Strikes donation, Cadence provided us
with the financial resources to secure a facility to serve women in
Silicon Valley." -- Julie Castro-Abrams, CEO Women's Initiative

Past beneficiaries include the San Jose Conservation Corps & Charter School, Fisher House, InnVision, Resource Area for Teachers, the Bill Wilson Center and Children's Discovery Museum. A complete listing can be found at: http://www.cadence.com/company/community/ssbeneficiaries.aspx
