MTC Technologies and Enigma Streamline Maintenance Logistics for U.S. Army Field Support Battalion

Integrated Software Solution Provides Interactive Electronic Technical Manuals to Reduce Inspection and Repair Time for Army Vehicles

BURLINGTON, MA--(Marketwire - October 22, 2007) - Enigma Inc., the leader in aftermarket service and support technology, today announced that the United States Army Field Support Battalion - Afloat (AFSBn-A) in Charleston, South Carolina has selected the Enigma Integrated Maintenance Logistics (E-IML) solution to facilitate the maintenance of various Army vehicles.

Based on the award-winning Enigma 3C® Platform, the E-IML solution provides maintenance supervisors, inspectors and mechanics with a single electronic interface to all maintenance, logistics and operational information for multiple platforms and weapons systems. The E-IML solution provides Class 3 through 5 Interactive Electronic Technical Manual (IETM) functionality; it supplies the maintainer with a complete maintenance solution, from diagnosis to service and repair, to parts procurement, thus reducing the time to inspect vehicles, reducing parts mis-orders, and increasing equipment uptime.

Currently the AFSBn-A in Charleston is piloting the application for three Army vehicle types: FMTV, HMMVW, HETT and the HETT Trailer. The battalion services thousands of vehicles per year, and has relied on a manual, paper-based process to record vehicle status, order parts, and retrieve maintenance information. When the Enigma solution is rolled out in January 2008, it will automate these processes and integrate with the AFSBn-A maintenance and planning systems, thereby eliminating the bottlenecks that currently occur.

"Our commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) solution provides state-of-the-art, industry-proven technology that not only meets, but exceeds the Army's IETM and logistics requirements," said Jonathan Yaron, CEO of Enigma. "The E-IML is tailored for troubleshooting, maintenance and support, so that customers like MTC Technologies can be up-and-running quickly, avoiding the cost of developing and maintaining a custom solution and reducing the risk to program delivery."

MTC Technologies, a prime contractor for the Field & Installation Readiness Support Team (FIRST) and GSA Logworld, is the prime contractor for the project; Enigma is the sub-contractor responsible for the design, development and implementation of the software application.

About the United States Army Field Support Battalion - Afloat

The United States Army Field Support Battalion - Afloat (AFSBn-A), at the Naval Weapons Station near Charleston, S.C. provides equipment and supplies to soldiers overseas. The facility is part of an overall "jointness" strategy by U.S. military to save time and costs, speed efficiency and get supplies to overseas fronts as quickly as possible.

AFSBn-A operates one of four Army Preposition Sites (APS) in the world, set up to provide U.S. soldiers the ability to quickly access combat equipment and supplies at any government-designated location. All four of these facilities inspect, repair, calibrate, service and modify equipment to reconstitute Army pre-positioned stocks. The Charleston-based operation is the only afloat program. After readying equipment and supplies, AFSBn-A stows them on 950-foot Navy cargo ships, which then sail to different parts of the world.
