phone operator in Russia and the Commonwealth of Independent States
(CIS) and Research In Motion (RIM) (Nasdaq:RIMM)(TSX:RIM) today
announced plans to offer BlackBerry®, a leading wireless platform, to
mobile customers in Russia.

BlackBerry is a popular and proven wireless solution for both individual
and corporate customers. BlackBerry will enable MTS subscribers to
easily access e-mail, phone, text messaging, Internet, organizer and
corporate data applications from a single, integrated device. By using
BlackBerry to access corporate applications, MTS customers will be able
to increase productivity and efficiency for individuals and workgroups.

For corporate customers, BlackBerry Enterprise Server™ tightly
integrates with Microsoft® Exchange, IBM Lotus® Domino™ and
Novell GroupWise™ enterprise systems to enable secure, push-based,
wireless access to e-mail and other corporate data. For individuals and
smaller businesses, BlackBerry Internet Service™ allows users to
access up to ten corporate and/or personal email accounts (including
Microsoft Exchange, IBM Lotus Domino and many popular ISP email
accounts) from a single device.

BlackBerry is now available on wireless networks around the world with
over 2.5 million subscribers using BlackBerry services today.

BlackBerry will operate on MTS' GSM/GPRS network in Russia with
international roaming supported in the countries where MTS has GPRS
roaming agreements.(a)
