Maestro Fresh Wes, Choclair and Divine Brown to Headline the CFLPA Pro Players' Events During 2009 Grey Cup Weekend

CALGARY, ALBERTA--(Marketwire - Oct. 19, 2009) - The CFL Players' Association together with their partner Scotiabank announced today that two time Juno award winner and legendary hip hop artist Maestro Fresh Wes, iconic hip hop entertainer and multiple Juno winner Choclair, and Canadian R&B star Divine Brown will be headlining the Pro Players' events Thursday, November 26th and Friday November 27th during Grey Cup week in Calgary, Alberta.

"The CFLPA are thrilled to secure these legendary Canadian hip hop and R&B artists for our Pro Players' Parties in Calgary during Grey Cup weekend", said former player and CFLPA Director of Marketing Mike Morreale. "We established our first party in Toronto a few years ago and it has grown into a large spectacle just three years later. The one thing that is core to our events is the ability for fans to meet and socialize with many of our players. To me this is the most important ingredient with our events and this year we are stepping up the entertainment level offered to our guests to ensure the best party yet." said Morreale.

To kick things off Pro Players' style, on Thursday, November 26th after the CFL Player Awards conclude, the CFLPA will host the Pro Players' Award Show After Party, presented by Scotiabank. Evening entertainment begins with resident Drum and DJ Rocswell & Harvey J engaging the crowd before emerging Canadian R&B entertainer Divine Brown takes the stage performing in front of CFL players, award winners, league executives and fans.

On Friday, November 27th the festivities continue with the ever popular Scotiabank Pro Players' Party. This event will feature Canadian iconic hip hop artists Maestro Fresh Wes and Choclair and will be preceded by a fashion show and opening DJ entertainment from Rocswell. Many CFL players, executives, celebrities and Grey Cup entertainers will be in attendance and fans are encouraged to witness these red carpet appearances before the party begins.

Both events will be held at Flames Central located at 219 8th Ave SW in Calgary, AB with doors opening to ticket holders at 8:30pm. A limited number of tickets will be going on sale to the public on Saturday, October 17th at 12:00 pm MST by visiting www.proplayers.ca.

"We are encouraging our hard core CFL Grey Cup fans to log on and purchase tickets early to avoid disappointment to ensure they can join us over Grey Cup weekend at our events", said Morreale.
