Magnolia Bakery Opens on Manhattan's Upper West Side

Landmark New York City Bakery Sweetens Offerings at New Columbus Avenue Location

NEW YORK, NY--(Marketwire - January 19, 2008) - Steve Abrams, along with his wife Tyra and daughter Olivia, opens a second Magnolia Bakery at 200 Columbus Avenue (at 69th Street) to cater to the family-oriented Upper West Side (UWS) neighborhood of which the Abrams family have been longtime residents.

The new Magnolia Bakery offers the same old-fashioned favorites as the original Bleecker Street bakery, including Magnolia Bakery's signature butter cream-frosted cupcakes, red velvet cake, icebox cakes and banana pudding. The UWS store will also reintroduce early Magnolia Classics and breakfast items such as cream coffee cake, muffins and breakfast buns.

The new location enables Magnolia Bakery to serve its customers specialty desserts with more flexibility with advance pre-orders. Magnolia Bakery now delivers throughout New York City.

The UWS Magnolia Bakery features a private party room ideally suited for celebrations of many kinds. In addition to hosting customized events in their private room, Magnolia Bakery will provide off-site catering to special occasions and corporate events.

For the design, Abrams turned to friend and collaborator architect Mark Zeff, with whom the Abrams family has executed several properties including residential projects and restaurants.
