Mainframe Entertainment to Animate 2006 MTV Movie Awards

VANCOUVER, BRITISH COLUMBIA--(CCNMatthews - May 24, 2006) -

Animation Studio Will Create Original Logos, Branding, Opening and Closing Segments, and Introductions for Upcoming Awards Broadcast

Mainframe Entertainment, Inc. (TSX:MFE), a leading creator of computer animation, will create the logo, branding, and original animation segments for this year's MTV Movie Awards, which air June 8th on MTV. The segments include category introductions, as well as opening and closing segments for the awards. The studio will blend elements of 2D and 3D animation to create stylized animated sequences for the show. The MTV Project is part of Mainframe's venture into branding and commercials using its CGI design expertise.

"It's fantastic to work again with MTV in such a creative capacity," said the studio's CEO, Rick Mischel. "The 2006 MTV Movie Awards are a great opportunity to demonstrate the phenomenal design, directorial, and artistic talent we have here at Mainframe, as well as the multiple branding and commercial animation services we offer."

"Mainframe had a big hand in making the 2003 Movie Awards one of the most visually stunning and entertaining shows on the network that year, and we were excited to work with them again," said Rick Austin, Producer, "2006 MTV Movie Awards." "This year we had a visual concept that went 180 degrees from the big crazy CG environments we had done recently, and Mainframe immediately got it."

The MTV Movie Awards will have added flair this year with the animation components created by Mainframe. Mainframe also animated the 2003 MTV Movie Awards, creating the logos and animation for the superhero-themed event. The studio animated stars Justin Timberlake and Seann William Scott as superheroes, as well as creating original animated introductions for all of the award categories. This year, segments introducing the award categories, which include everything from Best Kiss to Best Villain, will again feature stylized CG-animated elements.

In addition to taking on projects such as the MTV Movie Awards, Mainframe Entertainment has recently announced a development agreement with The Weinstein Company for the animated feature film project "Escape from Planet Earth," and has an all-new animated feature DVD with skateboarding superstar Tony Hawk due out this fall.
