Major Cleanup in Jeanne Mance Park: 350 Molson Coors Employees Roll Up Their Sleeves!

Initiative designed to benefit the entire Montreal community

MONTREAL, QUEBEC--(Marketwire - April 15, 2010) - To showcase the company's first ever volunteer Month of Action, Molson Coors Canada today initiated a vast cleanup operation in Jeanne Mance Park involving over 350 employees. An initiative of the Montréal brewery, this extensive cleanup operation was organized in cooperation with the City of Montréal within the framework of GrandeOpérationMontréal.net.

Michael Applebaum, Vice-Chairman of the Executive Committee and the individual responsible for citizen services with the City of Montréal, and Luc Ferrandez, Mayor of the Borough of Plateau Mont-Royal, were on hand to kick off the operation and thank Molson employees for their efforts.

"For close to 225 years, this tradition of giving back to the community has been solidly entrenched in Molson Coors values and culture. Seeking to underscore the community commitment of the illustrious Molson family whose history has been associated with that of Montréal for over two centuries now, Mr Applebaum expressed public recognition in the following words: "It is important to pay tribute to Molson Coors and their employees for this energetic, voluntary gesture in support of the Montréal community. The cleanup operation in Jeanne Mance Park is in keeping with city beautification efforts and is a vibrant example of corporate citizenship at its best. Action on behalf of the company will doubtless be emulated by other Montréal businesses interested in ensuring that Montréal remains as attractive as it is welcoming."

Month of Action international in scope

The cleanup operation in Jeanne Mance Park is part of the Month of Action Molson Coors program, a new global initiative set up to perpetrate a lengthy tradition of volunteering and community commitment by the company. The program extends to the entirety of the company's 15 000 employees in Canada, the United Kingdom and the United States, and will make it possible to coordinate volunteer action in regions across the globe.

During this year's inaugural Month of Action, which is taking place in April, the 3000 employees of Molson Coors Canada are being invited to take part in dozens of volunteer projects in different regions.

Proposed volunteer activities are numerous and varied, ranging from park cleanup to tree and shrub planting, and from helping build houses for the underprivileged to sorting food and clothing for food banks, and many more.

Each project represents an excellent means for Molson Coors volunteers to respond to a pressing community need, while striving to achieve a common goal. The company plans to organize two Months of Action Molson Coors each year: one in April and another in September. The theme of this year's September Month of Action will be water conservation, a cause of particular interest to the brewery.
