Marathon Runners Expected to Raise $100,000 for Citymeals-on-Wheels

"Team Citymeals" Gets Sneak-Preview of "Run, Fat Boy, Run," an Inspiring New Picturehouse Film Set for U.S. Release in 2008

NEW YORK, NY--(Marketwire - October 26, 2007) - Twenty nine marathon runners from around the nation have joined forces to create "Team Citymeals." Together they are expected to raise enough money to deliver 17,000 meals to New York's aged at this year's ING New York City Marathon to support the work of Citymeals-on-Wheels. Citymeals raises private funds to prepare and deliver weekend, holiday and emergency meals to the homebound elderly throughout the boroughs of the City. One hundred percent of the funds raised will directly fund meal preparations and delivery. In gratitude for their commitment and to motivate the runners before the November 4th marathon, Picturehouse, has invited "Team Citymeals" to an October 26th screening of its British comedy, "Run, Fat Boy, Run," in which the lead character runs the London Marathon. The film, directed by David Schwimmer, stars Simon Pegg, Hank Azaria and Thandie Newton.

"The ING New York City Marathon tests the fortitude and will of tens of thousands of runners each year, just as old age tests the fortitude and will of the 18,000 older people we serve," said Marcia Stein, Executive Director of Citymeals-on-Wheels. "This year, the 29 extraordinary people who comprise "Team Citymeals" elevate this commitment to a new level. The frail we serve will be rooting for Team Citymeals as they run through the boroughs. Our thanks go to Picturehouse for donating this sneak preview of "Run, Fat Boy, Run," the perfect send off for Team Citymeals."

"Run, Fat Boy, Run" will open in the U.S. in March 2008.

Launched in April 2005, Picturehouse is the joint venture of two leaders of the entertainment community -- HBO and New Line Cinema.

Founded in 1981, Citymeals-on-Wheels is a not-for-profit organization and public-private partnership with the New York City Department for the Aging that raises private funds to prepare and deliver weekend, holiday and emergency meals to the homebound elderly throughout the boroughs of New York City. Over the course of the year, Citymeals will underwrite 3.0 million meals to nearly 18,000 seniors in New York City.

One hundred percent of donations from the public to Citymeals goes toward hand-delivered meals for homebound seniors. For more information, visit www.citymeals.org.
