Mario Masson to Join the Technical Team of Midland Exploration

MONTREAL, QUEBEC--(Marketwire - Dec. 21, 2007) - Midland Exploration Inc. ("Midland") (TSX VENTURE:MD) is pleased to announce that Mario Masson will join its technical team.

With more than 20 years of experience in mineral exploration and an active role in many significant discoveries in Quebec, Midland is proud to welcome Mario Masson on its team. The Company issued 50,000 options to Mario. After spending a few years as a geologist with Nipadex and Muscocho, Mario joined Noranda Exploration in August 1990. From August 1990 to September 2002, Mario worked as Project Geologist then as Senior Project Geologist for Noranda Exploration (Noranda Inc.) in the Matagami mining camp. He was a member of the exploration team that, in the early 1990s, discovered the Orchan West and Bell Allard ore deposits. He was also involved in the delineation program for the Caber deposit in 1998 and was part of the team that discovered the Perseverance ore deposit in 2000. This success was acknowledged by the PDAC in 2001, when it presented the Bill Dennis Prospector of the Year Award to the Matagami exploration team.

From September 2002 until recently, Mario was in charge of exploration activities in the Noranda mining camp as Senior Geologist for Noranda Inc. - Falconbridge Ltd. - Xstrata Copper. Since 2004, he was responsible for exploration activities conducted in partnership with Alexis Minerals Corporation in the Rouyn-Noranda area. Mario and his team discovered in 2005 the West Ansil deposit. The AEMQ acknowledged this achievement by presenting its Prospector of the Year Award to the joint Falconbridge/Alexis team. Mario obtained a Bachelor's degree in Geology (B.Sc.geol.) in May 1987 from the Universite de Montreal and is a member in good standing of the Ordre des geologues du Quebec (OGQ).

Midland further announces that it has completed a flow-through private placement for an amount of $144,600, at a price of $0.60 per share, with, mainly, directors and officers. This placement will be used to incur a work program on the James Bay Molybdenum property, which will be done in 2008. Such program will include till sampling and prospecting.
