MarketTools Ranked as One of the Fastest-Growing Companies in North America on Deloitte's 2007 Technology Fast 500 and Silicon Valley Technology Fast 50

Attributes Its 475 Percent Revenue Growth to Innovative Product Offerings and Broad Customer Base

SAN FRANCISCO, CA--(Marketwire - October 31, 2007) - MarketTools, Inc. today announced that it ranked number 320 on Deloitte's 2007 Technology Fast 500, a ranking of the 500 fastest-growing technology, media, telecommunications and life sciences companies in North America. Rankings are based on percentage of fiscal year revenue growth over five years, from 2002-2006. MarketTools' revenue grew 475 percent during this period. This is MarketTools' second year in a row on Deloitte's Technology Fast 500.

MarketTools' CEO, Amal Johnson, credits a number of factors for the company's significant revenue growth over the past five years, including rapidly expanding product offerings, growing customer base and widespread industry partnerships. Over the past five years, MarketTools has added such innovative new solutions as Insight Networks™, an integrated solution for capturing authentic insights through Web communities and, most recently, MarketTools Epicenter™, an online platform for comprehensive market research that integrates and centralizes all research functions.

In addition to ranking on Deloitte's Technology Fast 500, MarketTools ranked number 28 on the Internet, Media & Entertainment and Communication category in the 2007 Silicon Valley Technology Fast 50, which is a ranking of the 50 fastest-growing technology firms in the region.

"MarketTools is honored to be recognized by Deloitte's Technology Fast 500 as one of the fastest-growing technology companies in North America," said Amal Johnson. "This ranking reflects not only our phenomenal growth over the past five years, but even more importantly, our ongoing dedication to delivering enhanced consumer insight, unparalleled access to customer communities and industry-leading innovations that change the market research landscape. We look forward to celebrating our continued success with our customers and partners for many years to come."

"Deloitte's Technology Fast 500 recognizes technology companies who have achieved extraordinary growth in North America's most innovative and competitive sectors," said Phil Asmundson, vice chairman, U.S. Technology, Media and Telecommunications, Deloitte & Touche USA LLP. "We congratulate MarketTools on this significant accomplishment."

"Deloitte's Silicon Valley Technology Fast 50 companies have shown the strength, vision and tenacity to succeed in today's very competitive technology environment," said Mark Jensen, partner and national director, Venture Capital Services, Deloitte & Touche LLP. "We applaud the successes of MarketTools and acknowledge it as one of the very few to accomplish such a fast growth rate over the past five years."

Fast 500 Selection and Qualifying Criteria

The Fast 500 ranks the fastest-growing technology, media, telecommunications and life sciences companies in North America. It is compiled from Deloitte's 16 regional North American Fast 50 programs, nominations submitted directly to the Fast 500, and public company database research. Companies are selected based on percentage revenue growth from 2002 to 2006.

Entrants must own proprietary intellectual property or proprietary technology that contributes to a significant portion of the company's operating revenues or devote a significant proportion of revenues to research and development of technology. Using other companies' technology or intellectual property in a unique way does not qualify. Base-year operating revenues must be at least $50,000 USD or $75,000 CD, and current-year operating revenues must be at least $5 million USD or CD. Companies must be in business a minimum of five years, and they must be headquartered within North America.
