Marketing Guru Joins House Party's Advisory Board

Rishad Tobaccowala Advises Consumer Activation Company on Continued Innovation

IRVINGTON, NY--(Marketwire - December 16, 2009) - House Party, a leading consumer activation and experiential marketing company, announces the addition of marketing visionary Rishad Tobaccowala to House Party's advisory board. For more than 25 years Tobaccowala has helped leading marketers reinvent their strategies to stay ahead of the rapid and profound changes in technology and consumer behavior, and now he will apply his unmatched savvy and perspective to help House Party and its clients innovate and grow.

Tobaccowala serves as both a director and the resident futures and re-invention expert for VivaKi, a unit of Publicis, which oversees all of its media and digital assets including Starcom Mediavest, Zenith Optimedia, Razorfish, Digitas and Denuo. VivaKi agencies employ 16,000 professionals and plan and allocate over 50 billion dollars globally. Until recently, Tobaccowala served as the CEO of Denuo, a unit of VivaKi which he founded. Denuo focuses on instigating and inventing new forms of creativity for a range of clients including large firms such as Hewlett-Packard, General Mills and Astra Zeneca, and newer companies like Daylife and Meebo.

Prior to his current roles, Tobaccowala served as the Chief Innovation Officer of Publicis Groupe Media and was the founder and President of SMG Next, the first and most comprehensive futures practice in the media industry. The development of SMG Next resulted in the launch of several successful practices for SMG, including: SMG Play, the first company to leverage videogames as a marketing platform; word-of-mouth practice Reverb; and Digits, a leader in mobile marketing. The TV 2.0 practice he developed focuses on the future of consumer engagement with video marketing messages. Tobaccowala was also responsible for developing SMG Search, which specializes in leveraging search applications in new ways for leading spenders in the category, including General Motors.

Tobaccowala was named by Business Week as one of the top business leaders in 2005 for his pioneering innovation, and TIME magazine once dubbed him one of five "Marketing Innovators." He was appointed to Advertising Age's Interactive Hall of Fame; named Adweek's 2000 Media All-Star for Interactive Media; dubbed OMMA magazine Media Strategist All-Star for 2005; and named one of 2005's Best Leaders by Business Week. In 2008 he was named an industry legend by Ad Color and in 2009 conferred an Industry Achievement award at ad:tech for long-term dedication and industry service to the cause of Digital Marketing.

Tobaccowala is on the steering committee of Kilts Center of Marketing at The University of Chicago and involved in the Future of Advertising Project at Wharton.
