Maryland's Gazette Newspapers Publishes Story About W2 Energy Joint Venture in Laurel, MD

TORONTO--(Marketwire - October 30, 2009) - In the October 29 issue of the Gazette Newspapers, Staff Writer Caitlan Moran writes about the Joint Venture between the City of Laurel, Maryland and W2 Energy (PINKSHEETS: WTWO) to convert municipal solid waste into electricity and fuel.

In the article, at, Paul McCullagh, Director of Public Works for the City of Laurel, mentions that Laurel is spending on the average $300,000 per year to dump its trash in local landfills.

City Councilwoman Donna Crary (Ward 2) said that she supports the city taking any steps it can to reduce waste and pollution.

W2 Energy will initially put a 4 ton per day mobile waste to energy plant at the Department of Public Works site. After that unit has been tested, W2 and the City of Laurel will make plans to take all 28 tons per day of Laurel's garbage and produce fuel and electricity from it.
