MedXcel Uses TalkPoint to Deliver Continuing Medical Education to the Nuclear Medicine Field

On-Demand Webcasts Help Medical Professionals Stay Current on Latest Changes and Developments

TAMPA, FL and NEW YORK, NY--(Marketwire - June 21, 2010) -  MedXcel, a medical education company and expert in many therapeutic areas within continuing medical education (CME), and TalkPoint, a leading provider of Webcasting and Internet Broadcasting solutions, today announced that MedXcel has employed TalkPoint technology to deliver online continuing medical education to professionals in the field of nuclear medicine. The free on-demand Web program "Improving Standards and Applications for Cholecystokinin-Stimulated Cholescintigraphy (CCK-CS)" went live on May 14, 2010 and will be available until May 14, 2011.

MedXcel's latest offering to the nuclear medicine field addresses methodological practice gaps and lack of quality evidence present in the use of CCK-CS with calculation of GBEF in predicting symptom outcome after cholecystectomy in patients with suspected gallbladder dyskinesia. To accommodate the busy schedules of medical professionals, MedXcel has partnered with TalkPoint to create a high-quality webcast on this topic that can be accessed at anytime and from anywhere.

"We are pleased with TalkPoint's expertise in tackling the various challenges of providing on-demand medical education," said Kris Calderon, PhD, CHES; Director of Collaborative Grants, MedXcel. "TalkPoint has been flexible in working with our faculty and training our CME providers, speakers, and moderators. TalkPoint's flexibility and expertise has helped us meet demands for more continuing medical education."

MedXcel meets the challenges of an ever-changing medical environment by partnering with accredited providers to deliver continuing education to health care professionals, keeping them abreast of the latest technologies, disease patterns, and advancements in patient care delivery.

"MedXcel is providing a great benefit to the medical community by offering this engaging learning forum," said Nick Balletta, CEO of TalkPoint. "We are happy to be working with MedXcel to deliver timely and important educational information to health care professionals."
