World's Largest Hockey Tournament Continues Saturday

OTTAWA, ONTARIO--(Marketwire - Dec. 29, 2007) - The ninth annual Bell Capital Cup, the world's premier atom and peewee hockey tournament, continues with games and events on Saturday, Dec. 29.

The 489 participating teams are vying for the Allen J. MacDonald Memorial Trophy as bestowed upon each division champion. On the heels of last year's record-breaking event, this year's Bell Capital Cup continues to welcome the world. This year's tournament hosts more than 80 teams from the United States, as well as teams from China, Finland, Germany, Latvia, Russia and Switzerland.

Bell Capital Cup awards for players

Player-of- the-game awards: Following each game of the Bell Capital Cup, two awards will be presented (approximately 1,800 trophies for the duration of the tournament). The awards will be presented at the arena following the game.

At the conclusion of each game, a player of the game and a defensive player of the game will be selected. Players will be awarded a pewter and rosewood statuette to commemorate their hard work and effort. Recipients are ineligible on a second occasion, unless the second award is for play in the championship game or a team's final game of the tournament.

Ottawa Senators vs. Washington Capitals - 7 p.m.

More than 6,000 players, family members, volunteers and tournament officials will be in attendance when the Ottawa Senators host the Washington Capitals in NHL action on Saturday evening at Scotiabank Place.
