Media Advisory: CNSC to Hold Public Hearings in Port Elgin

PORT ELGIN, ONTARIO--(Marketwire - Sept. 22, 2009) - The Canadian Nuclear Safety Commission (CNSC) will be holding public proceedings in Port Elgin, Ontario, on September 30 and October 1, 2009, at the CAW Family Education Centre, 115 Shipley Ave. in Port Elgin, Ontario. The proceedings will be Webcast live on the CNSC Web site at nuclearsafety.gc.ca.

The CNSC is holding Day 2 of the public hearing to consider Bruce Power's Application for the renewal of the operating licences for the Bruce A and B Nuclear Generating Stations and to approve the reloading of fuel for Bruce A Units 1 and 2.

The CNSC invites members of the public and the media to attend the proceedings. Media representatives who plan to attend should contact CNSC Media Relations at the coordinates below.
