Media Advisory/Canada Millennium Scholarship Foundation Excellence Award Laureates Recognized

REGINA, SASKATCHEWAN--(CCNMatthews - June 1, 2006) -



EVENT: You are invited to attend a celebration to recognize 34
young Saskatchewan residents who have won a prestigious
millennium excellence entrance award for their leadership,
innovation, community involvement and academic achievement.
They were chosen from more than 9,000 applications received
in Canada.

Her Honour, the Honourable Dr. Lynda M. Haverstock,
Lieutenant Governor of Saskatchewan will make presentations
to the laureates. The Honourable Allan Blakeney, Director,
Canada Millennium Scholarship Foundation will be a guest
speaker. Lindsay Millar, an excellence award laureate, will
also speak.

There are three types of entrance awards:

- national awards of $5,000, renewable for up to three
additional years, for a total of $20,000

- provincial/territorial awards of $4,000, renewable for
up to three additional years, for a total of $16,000

- one-time local awards of $4,000.
