Media Advisory: Canada’s Taxpayers’ Ombudsman Visits Regina on National Outreach Tour

REGINA, SASKATCHEWAN--(Marketwire - March 16, 2010) - Canada's Taxpayers' Ombudsman, Mr. J. Paul Dubé, is conducting a national outreach tour. He will be in Regina from March 16 to 18, 2010.

Mr. Dubé was appointed as the Taxpayers' Ombudsman in February 2008. His role is to uphold the Taxpayer Bill of Rights and to see that taxpayers get professional service and fair treatment from the Canada Revenue Agency (CRA).

On his tour, Mr. Dubé will be speaking to members of the Regina & District Chamber of Commerce, meeting with Members of Parliament and the Legislative Assembly, conducting media interviews and visiting the Regina Tax Services Office. The purpose of the tour is to raise awareness of his office and to consult on issues faced by taxpayers in their dealings with the CRA.

The tour will also give Mr. Dubé an opportunity to hear comments that could help identify current or emerging service-related issues within the CRA that may have a negative impact on Canadian taxpayers.
