Media Advisory: Canada's Taxpayers' Ombudsman Visits Victoria on National Outreach Tour

VICTORIA, BRITISH COLUMBIA--(Marketwire - Feb. 2, 2010) - Canada's Taxpayers' Ombudsman, Mr. Paul Dube, is conducting a national outreach tour. He will be in Victoria from February 4 to 5, 2010.

Mr. Dube was appointed as the Taxpayers' Ombudsman in February 2008. His role is to uphold the Taxpayer Bill of Rights and to see that taxpayers get professional service and fair treatment from the Canada Revenue Agency (CRA).

On his tour, Mr. Dube will be meeting tax professionals that represent taxpayers. He will also meet with CRA employees. The purpose of the tour is to explain the mandate of his office and to talk about the services that it offers.

The tour will also give Mr. Dube an opportunity to hear comments that could help identify current or emerging service-related issues within the CRA that may have a negative impact on Canadian taxpayers.
