Media Advisory: Canada's United Nations Day Ceremony

OTTAWA, ONTARIO--(Marketwire - Oct. 19, 2007) - In honour of United Nations Day, a ceremony will be held at the National Peacekeeping Monument on October 21st, 2007 to pay tribute to Canadian peacekeepers - past and present. Member of Parliament for Ottawa-Orleans, Ontario, Mr. Royal Galipeau will be in attendance. Lieutenant-General W.J. Natynczyk, Vice-Chief of the Defence Staff, will make a short address and will update mission plaques on the Monument wall, thereby officially closing 2 missions. Memorial Cross Recipient Mrs Hess-von Kruedener will lay flowers in memory of fallen peacekeepers.

WHEN: Sunday, October 21st, 2007 at 14:00 Eastern Time.

WHERE: The National Peacekeeping Monument on Sussex Drive, Ottawa.
