Media Advisory: Canadian Delegates to Accompany Governor General to the Republic of Haiti and the Dominican Republic

OTTAWA, ONTARIO--(Marketwire - March 5, 2010) - On the occasion of visits to the Republic of Haiti and the Dominican Republic, Their Excellencies Michaëlle Jean, Governor General of Canada, and Mr. Jean-Daniel Lafond will be accompanied by Canadian delegates who will play an active role in meetings with Haitian and Dominican authorities, as well as with members of the civil society.

Engaged in the fields of status of women, education and municipal politics, the delegates will share their experiences and knowledge with their Haitian and Dominican counterparts.

Listed below are the members of the accompanying delegation:

Mayor of Montréal, member of the Federation of Canadian Municipalities, vice-president of CGLU (Cités et gouvernements Locaux Unis), and vice-president of AIMF (Association Internationales des Maires Francophones)
