Media Advisory - Canadian Hydro Holds Grand Opening of Upper Mamquam Hydroelectric Plant - BC's Newest Green Power Facility

VANCOUVER--(CCNMatthews - Oct. 21) -

What: Official Ceremony to Celebrate the Grand Opening of the
Upper Mamquam Hydroelectric Plant - British Columbia's
Newest Green Power Plant. Green power is environmentally
friendly electricity that comes from renewable sources. This
new run-of-river hydro facility is the water equivalent to
the wind farm.

Canadian Hydro Developers, Inc. will hold an official
ceremony October 23 to celebrate the Grand Opening of the
Upper Mamquam Hydroelectric Project located seven kilometres
from Squamish, British Columbia.

11:15 am: Tour of powerhouse and intake structure

Directions: Media traveling from Vancouver and Squamish to the Upper
Mamquam Hydroelectric Plant must rendezvous with one of two
private bus locations. There is one departure from the Hyatt
Hotel, 655 Burrard Street at 9:00 am; and, a second
departure from a rendezvous parking lot south of Squamish at
10:00 am. The parking lot just south of Squamish is located
at the southeast corner of the Sea to Sky Highway and the
Mac Blo Logging Road located at the base of Chief Mountain.
Please call to let us know you are coming and to receive a
map of these two pick-up locations. At 2:30 pm, we will be
providing return transport via private buses to the
rendezvous parking lot just south of Squamish and to the
Hyatt Hotel in Vancouver.
